Lecturer Profile:

Liu Gang, a professor at the University of Southern Denmark and the Cuiying Chair Professor at Lanzhou University. He is mainly engaged in research on industrial ecology, urban sustainable development and resource and environmental management. He is currently the director of the International Society of Industrial Ecology, the secretary-general of the Socio-Economic Metabolism Branch, the director of the Chinese Society of Natural Resources, the deputy director and secretary-general of the Special Committee on Resource Flow and Management, the co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Industrial Ecology, and the associate editor and editorial board member of nearly ten SCI journals in the field of Resources, Conservation & Recycling. He has published more than 100 papers in top journals such as Nature Climate Change, Nature Food, Nature Communications, Environmental Science & Technology, etc. The research results have been reported by CNN, Popular Science, Xinhua Digest, and other domestic and international media. He was awarded the Robert A. Laudise Young Scientist Award by the International Society for Industrial Ecology for his "outstanding contributions to the development of the field of industrial ecology", and the James J. Morgan Early Career Award by Environmental Science & Technology, which is a top journal in the field of environment. He has been invited to serve as a consulting expert for international institutions such as the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the World Bank, the OECD, the International Energy Agency, and the European Union Joint Research Center.
